‘Franca Treur and Olivia Ettema, five years of teamwork’

6 April - 16 June 2019

On 16 January 2014 a very short story by Franca Treur with the title ‘Voornemen’ appeared on the back page of the NRC. A man is so reluctant to get married that the officiating civil servant has to ask him to remove his rucksack for the ceremony. The story immediately attracted attention because of the illustration that the NRC asked artist Olivia Ettema to provide. A unique collaboration between Treur and Ettema was born. Many illustrated stories followed.
